É designado pelo nome de “culto” ou “adoração” tudo aquilo que, por todos, possa ser realizado em relação a Deus, sob a autoridade dele, de acordo com a vontade e ordenança dele, em obediência a ele e tendo em vista a glória dele. É de acordo com isso que todos os deveres relativos e mútuos devem ser executados.

A sujeição das esposas aos seus maridos deve ser feita como “ao Senhor”, o cabeça do homem, e em obediência a ele. E os maridos devem amar suas esposas, “como Cristo amou a igreja”, de acordo com o seu padrão e exemplo, e devem ser influenciados pelo amor dele (Efésios 5:21, 29).

Os filhos devem obedecer aos seus pais “no Senhor”, pois isso é algo que Deus exige e incentiva por sua promessa. E, de maneira piedosa, os pais devem educar os seus filhos “na disciplina e na admoestação do Senhor” (Efésios 6:1, 4).
