A vida de Jonas acabou quando ele viu um lobo-guará de pelo vermelho sangue.
Ele vivia uma vida comum na fazenda de sua família até o dia em que seu galinheiro foi atacado por um lobo-guará. Nada incomum em uma fazenda com uma floresta próxima. O problema era a cor diferenciada daquele animal, um tom escarlate vivo, e aquele detalhe não passou despercebido pelo rapaz.
Depois disso, outros ataques se seguiram com animais igualmente diferentes, e seu pai se sente obrigado a caçá-los. Quando esses animais se mostram muito mais inteligentes do que aparentam, e um dos funcionários da fazenda desaparece, a família percebe que há algo muito errado com aqueles seres e o horror se espalha em suas mentes.
Numa tentativa desesperada de sobreviver, Jonas, sua irmã mais nova e seus pais pensam em formas de fugir dali e pedir ajuda, mas descobrem já ser tarde demais.

Yago mais uma vez nos proporciona uma trama bastante imersiva, que além de nos deixar com a curiosidade aguçada, ainda nos transporta para tempos de grande nostalgia: a infância, na qual existiam muitos "bichos" para pegar criancinhas.

No entanto, o bicho pelo qual Jonas e sua família sai em busca, não assusta apenas as crianças, mas ameça toda humanidade, essa que vem destruindo o bem maior de nosso planeta: as florestas, animais, rios e mares.

Nunca imaginei que nesse conto pudesse haver uma crítica tão incrível relacionada ao meio ambiente e, claro, não poderia ser melhor, afinal nós somos os únicos responsáveis por preservá-la, no entanto, não fazemos nem 0,001% disso.

Então, se querem uma história levemente assustadora e que te faça abrir os olhos para o mundo ao redor, esse conto é mais do que perfeito.
