Notável acinte!
Só se não entende: 1) se o período histórico do romance é da «colonização brasileira», donde aparecem os portugueses para se «confrontarem» com os indígenas? 2) se depois da independência brasileira os confrontos com os indígenas cessaram por milagre ou apenas porque antropológica e politicamente os colonos se tornaram eles também... indígenas?
A nota editorial denuncia um complexo de colónia e ressabiamento contra os portugueses deliberados de quem na redigiu. Ficamos sem saber se é da pena dum ameríndio, se dum antigo colono que se esqueceu dessa sua condição.
O romance de José de Alencar bem dispensava tamanha estupidez.
